Loans Board Spend K17 Mn Printing Forms, Diaries When Needy Students Are Withdrawing From Studies

K 17 million for diaries when needy students are withdrawing from studies
High Education Student Loans and Grants Board has coughed a whooping amount of MK 17 million payable to EE & A Enterprises of Lilongwe for printing of diaries and forms, at a trying time when hundreds of students from University of Malawi have failed to access loans and some of them withdrawing from studies on financial grounds. Malawi Independent has learnt.
According to a payment voucher we have seen signed by Chris Chisoni who is the Executive Director of the Loans board, EE & A Enterprises has been paid K 17, 165,120.00 by cheque number 001780.
This is an insult to Malawians and to the needy students who have dropped out of school for failing to pay fees in colleges and at the same time failed to access the loan.
K 17 million is enough money to keep hundreds of students in the corridors of our universities.
