MCP Cries Foul With APM’s Visit To JZU: Accuses Mutharika Of Not Consulting Them
Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has cried foul with President Mutharika’s visit to the private residence of John Tembo who is former MCP President and leader of opposition in parliament, saying Mutharika did not seek permission from them.
In an exclusive interview with one of Chakwera’s errand boys serving as MCP Deputy Secretary General , Elsenhower Mkala said the party is surprised with the visit of President Mutharika at JZU Area 10 residence, lamenting that as a party they were not consulted and informed of the same .
Mkaka said President Mutharika has crossed the red line with the visit to JZU home without consulting them, he said APM was supposed to let them know since Tembo was former MCP leader and if anything to do with him, Everyone including Mutharika had to get clearance first from MCP officials and not just going to his house without their knowledge.
“As the party , we were supposed to be the first to know this and we could have sent party officials to accompany the the President.” Said Mkaka.
Mutharika was a student of John Tembo at Dedza secondary School and later they met again in parliament as politicians and worked together until 2013 when Tembo quit active politics.
