Juliana Kaduya announced her joining of MCP during a political rally which took place on Sunday in Lilongwe and wax welcomed by MCP President Lazarus Chakwera, along with other 60 members who have defected from DPP to MCP.

In an interview with Malawi Independent,Kaduya said she thought of joining MCP because is the party she feels is gaining grounds, and that she is more welcomed in the MCP camp than in the DPP a party which she loved but kept truning her left and right.

Campaign in the by-elections slated for Lilongwe City South East constituency has also reached a climax with governing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) candidate Reuben Ngwenya hiring reggae artist Charles Nsaku to be performing at his campaign rallies.

However, it has been established that MCP candidate Ulemu Msungama is on top of the game in this campaign, as he is reported to have printed over 10,000 posters and flags with a simple message for the people in the area to vote for him which he gave out to the people in the area in a door to door campaign exercise he undertook over the weekend.

In addition, business came to a standstill in Area 23 over the weekend when Ulemu Msungama set ablaze the area with red sea and thousands rallied to give support for him in the run to the elections.
