Malawi’ Least Travelled President Peter Mutharika Arrives In Brussels Safely: Busy Schedule Awaits
Malawi President Prof. Arthur Peter Mutharika who on Monday went out of the country on a two stop visit to Europe , has safely landed in Brussels, upon the European Union (EU) invitation and he is expected to attend the 2017 European Development Days (EDD) and other engagements.
Mutharika arrived in Brussels in the early night hours of Tuesday and he is expected to sign three multi million dollar financial agreements on top of holding high-profile bilateral meetings.
Then after, he will proceed to Britain for other official business.
Prof. Mutharika departed left the country through Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) said among other engagements, he was hopeful of three deals that he is expected to sign whilst in European countries.
“I will attend a two day annual meeting for European Union, secondly I will have bilateral talks with Director General of United Nations, the Commissioner of Trade, as well as the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).Said Mutharika before flying off”
The President added that, apart from all these engangements, Malawi is also expected to sign agreements that will see the country getting finance on issues of agriculture, nutrition as well as issues of women and the youth.
President Mutharika will then on Friday, 9 June 2017, make an address at the glamorous Oxford University in the United Kingdom.
