APM Govt Allocates Extra K 3.1 Billion For LL City Roads As Bikoko Secures More ‘Concubines’
Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) government under the leadership of Prof.Arthur Peter Mutharika has allocated extra funds to the tune of MK 3.1 billion to Lilongwe City Council for the construction of five major roads in Lilongwe city.
According to Lilongwe City PRO Tamara Chafunya, MK 2.5 billion will be used to construct Chayamba Junction in M1 to Area 18 cemetery,Kamuzu Institute to Area 23 police via Area 21 road,6 Miles to mtaya site road,Biwi Triangle to Penyenye via Area 22 road and Area 47 between Sector 1 and 2 road.
As that in not enough, about MK 600 million will be used for the drainage system of the roads which have already been constructed in the first phase of the work in the city.
It is expected that these road projects will be accomplished in a period of four months.
