MCP In Leadership Crisis: Chakwera Supporting Mp Nkhata To Oust Mp Meja In Kasungu West
There is tension in Malawi opposition MCP following leadership crisis which has rocked the party, with party’s President Lazarus Chakwera supporting Amon Nkhata, Member of Parliament for Kasungu Central to start campaigning in the area of another MCP lawmaker, Alex Meja of Kasungu west to oust him in 2019 elections.
It has been established that Alex Meja is being branded as sympathizer of Felix Jumbe, who on numerous occasions has been criticizing Chakwera for his poor leadership.
Now the entire MCP executive has put in place measures to make Alex Meja loose his seat to fellow MCP MP Amon Nkhata whose political future is in limbo with Ken Kandodo Banda bouncing back in active politics in Kasungu Central.
“He (Nkhata) is a failed politician. He knows he has failed in his constituency in Kasungu Central and decided to cause chaos in my constituency. The former MP of Kasungu Central (Ken Kandodo) set the bar very high and Nkhata is failing to meet the bar,” said Meja.
However, Meja has challenged Chakwera and Nkhata that they will not succed with their plans as they cannot manage to unseat him in his area.
“He is running away from his own shadow in Kasungu central and thinks he can make it in Kasungu west, no, he will fail, miserably,” said Meja.
