PP President Uladi Mussa Surrenders Himself To ACB In A Corruption, Abuse Of Office Case Occurred During His Tenure As Minister
Peoples Party interim President Uladi Mussa has surrendered himself at ACB Offices in City Center -Lilongwe, Mulanje House in connection with a corruption and abuse of office case which occurred when he was minister of Home Affairs.
The ACB is accusing Mussa and three others of granting Malawi citizenships to 50 foreigners without following due process of the law.
The ACB accuses Mussa and the others of issuing citizenships illegally to Burundians, Rwandese, Tanzanians and Ugandans.
Former chief immigration officer Hudson Mankhwala appeared before the Lilongwe magistrates court on similar charges.
Mankhwala has been slapped with neglect of official duties for his alleged failure to scrutinize the granting of the citizenships to the foreigners between April 2013 and April 2013.
During that period, Mussa was minister of Home Affairs.
Mankhwala has since been told to report to ACB offices every two weeks while Mussa had rejected the accusations describing it as witch hunting.
