Malawians have all reasons to smile and soon they will be reaping the fruits of President Arthur Peter Mutharika’s administration, owing to the fact that inflations is reportedly going down.
Information from National Statistics Office (NSO) has it that headline inflation for January 2017 has slowed by 1.8 percentage points to 18.2 percent from the previous month’s 20 percent.
In its Stats Flash, NSO has attributed this to the overall drop in food inflation which stands at 21.1 percent, a drop from 24.4 percent in December 2016.
On the other hand, non-food inflation stands at 15 percent from the previous month’s 15.4 percent, according to NSO
President Arthur Peter Mutharika assured Malawians recently that things will be okay economically and this nation will reap the fruits.
