Ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has kicked aside Minister Of Agriculture and Irrigation George Chaponda as leader of the House in Parliament, barely a day when he took over his position.
On Monday, business came to a stand still at parliament when opposition parliamentarians were against the decision to reinstate Chaponda as government leader of the house.
This forced the speaker to call for an early Tea break as members present at the chamber were not willing to proceed with business.
It was rumoured that Democratic Progressive Party held a meeting over the weekend which agreed to reinstate Chaponda but the move received a cold shoulder when it was made known to the public.
Minister of Local government, Kondwani Nankhumwa is the one who has taken over from Chaponda as government leader of the house.
