Malawi’s VP Chilima To Visit 130,000 People Displaced By Floods In Salima
Malawi Vice President Saulos Chilima, in his capacity as Minister for Disaster Management Affairs, will tomorrow visit families that have been displaced by floods in Salima district.Malawi Independent has learnt.
According to information we have got, about 130, 000 people (248 families) have been affected by the floods in the area of Traditional Authority Pemba after Lifidzi river flooded due to persistent heavy rains.
The affected families have been evacuated to Kandulu Evacuation Centre at Chikowa Primary School in the area of T/A Ndindi where the Vice President will visit.
Chilima is expected to arrive at the school at 10 am.
