Mutharika Applauds MDF Soldiers For Their Hard Working Spirit Towards Development, Disaster Mgt,Environmental Protection
Malawi President Prof .Arthur Peter Mutharika who is also commander in chief for the Malawi Defense Force (MDF) has applauded the country’s soldiers in all the barracks, units and garrisons for their hard working spirit towards development Malawi, response to natural disaster and protecting our environment.
Mutharika was speaking at Kamuzu Barracks where he was invited to attend interdenominational prayers organised by the Malawi Defense Force.
In his speech, President Mutharika who was too biblical quoted Psalms 133 which reads,How good and pleasant it is
when God’s people live together in unity!
The Commander in Chief thanked the Army Commander General Spoon Phiri for inviting him to attend the function and said it was a great honor for him.
In addition,President Mutharika extended his gratitudes to the families of the serving MDF soldiers for the love and care they bestow upon them.
Mutharika further added that the soldiers are doing a great job, over and above defending this country and as your Commander-in-Chief, He pleased that they are servants of the people.
“I want to assure you that my Government will give you every support we can for you to do your job happily and professionally. I want you to be happy.”
When we read the Word of God, we find many examples of successful soldiers; these were soldiers that prayed a lot: Moses, Joshua, Saul, Gideon and David, just to mention some.He added.
“I believe in God. I believe in prayers. And I believe God answers prayers. That is why I asked religious leaders that we should pray for good rain. So far, God is answering our prayer. I want to assure all Malawians that in April, we will have National Thanksgiving Prayers. And I urge you all to continue praying. ” Said Mutharika
The president closed with a prayer from Psalms 90 verse 17. “Lord our God, may your blessings be with us. Give us success in all we do!”
Others who were present are, Vice President Saulos Klaus Chilima and Madame Chilima, Deputy Minister of Defence Hon.Vincent Ghambi, members of the clergy, senior government officials, mayor of Lilongwe Desmond Bikoko, Hon Bentry Namasasu Mp of the area and people surrounding Kamuzu Barracks.
