PAC Accuse Speaker Of Locking Seven Corrupt Ministers Cash Gate File In His Office:’Let’s Wait For The Speaker To Return’
Parliament through the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has accused Speaker of National Assembly Richard Msowoya of being the reason they have delayed to release the names, of the seven cash gate ministers serving in Arthur Peter Mutharika’s cabinet , saying that the file with the names was locked in his office before he went for official duties abroad.
PAC chairman Alekeni Menyani said Malawians should will wait for the Speaker Richard Msowoya to return from foreign trip for the names of individuals in Mutharika cabinet to be named and shamed.
In addition, PAC Deputy Chairman who is the law maker for Rumphi East has also issued a Press Statement clarifying what Menyani had earlier reported.
“Please be informed that the Public Accounts Commitee (PAC) of the national Assembly in Malawi has failed to release names of implicated cabinet ministers in the MK 236 Bn scam on 31st January, 2017 because the speaker of the house locked the names away in his cash chest before he travelled out of the country.” Reads the statement.
The statement further tells Malawians to be patient as it is expected that the list will be released once the speaker is back in the country.
Kamlepo Kalua did not say when the Speaker will be back in the country and where he had gone for official duties.
