APM Meets Tanzanian President John Magufuli At AU Summit, Inside Mutharika’s Nine Hrs Of Govt Business In Addis
Mutharika arrived in Addis Ababa on Sunday, 29th January 2017 and was welcome by Malawi Ambassador to Ethiopia, HE Chimango Chirwa , first lady of Malawi, ministers from Malawi and officials from Ethiopian governement.
Mutharika upon arrival, was taken to his residential area where he was welcome by Malawians living in Ethiopia and other government officials.
On Monday, 30th January,2017. President Mutharika started his official engagements in Ethiopia on behalf of Malawians. When he arrived at AU headquarters, he went for a closed session of AU heads of states.
After the closed session of AU summit for heads of states.The Presidents had a group photo outside the AU hall and from there. Mutharika went for a closed bilateral meeting with Tanzanian President, HE John Pomwe Magufuli, the meeting was graced by Malawi envoy to Ethiopia HE Chirwa, Minister of foreign affairs in Malawi Francic Kasaila and other officials from Tanzania.
Mutharika after some assignment and closed meetings he had, proceeded to the Nelson Mandela plenary hall where the 28th AU summit was officially opened.
After nine hours of work, Mutharika wound up his first day assignemnt and went to have a rest at his residential area in Addis,he is expected to continue with his engagements today.
