Malawi President Mutharika To Launch MK 13 Bn Blantyre City Water Project: Address People At Pasani
Malawi President Peter Mutharika is expected to officially open the Blantyre City potable water supply project.
According to sources, Mutharika is expected to preside over the commencement of the project at a function which will take place in Mulanje on Monday, November 7,2016.
Then after, Mutharika will hold a public rally at Pasani in the same area and he is expected to arrive at 13:00 hours.
The Blantyre city portable water project is a project that will cost about MK 13 billion and aims to improve the supply of water in the commercial city of Blantyre as well as the districts of Thyolo and Mulanje.
Mutharika said Malawi needs to invest in water supply in order to reduce the water problems that arise when waterboards fail to meet the demand of water.
A similar project is expected to take place in the central region, a company has been identified which will provide water to some districts in the central region from Lake Malawi in Salima.
