Opposition Shaken As President Mutharika Storms Mchinji With Public Rally.. Barely Weeks Of Incapacitation Rumors
Malawi President Arthur Peter Mutharika will this afternoon address a first public rally at Mchinji Boma since he returned from the United States Of America amid rumors that he was critically ill, with others calling for his resignation as they said he was incapacitated.
According to State House, Mutharika’s public rally will start at 15:00 hours .The rally is set to give a platform to Mutharika to highlight some of the development projects that his government has undertaken since he ascended to power in May 2014.
In addition, Mutharika will tell the people of Mchinji and the nation at large of what he intends to do in the coming years before 2019 elections.
It is also believed that Mutharika will take some time to campaign for Stephen Kamwani who is the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) parliamentary aspirant in the coming by-election in the same area.
Early in the day, President Mutharika will preside over the official opening of the national ID project which is set to take place at BICC in the capital city of Lilongwe.
