DPP’s Iron Lady Patricia Kaliati Denies Falling Out Of Favour With President Mutharika
Malawi’s Minister of Gender and Civic Education and law maker Patricia Kaliati has denied the existence of any misunderstanding with Malawi President Peter Mutharika or the vice president Saulos Chilima, saying her relationship remains cordial and rejected reports that there are cracks among them.
The celebrated parliamentarian Kaliati said there is no truth in reports that she has fallen apart with President Mutharika because she has been associating with the Vice President Saulos Chilima, saying the two have sound relationship.
She said contrary to the speculations, she remains loyal to the President and that it is not a secret bit the truth that the vice president was picked by Mutharika himself.
“I am not a double standard person, when I say I love Professor (Peter Mutharika) I mean it full stop,” said Kaliati.
She trashed assertions that President Mutharika did not recognise her during a news conference, saying that’s “sensationalism” reporting .
“The President recognised all cabinet ministers present and that included me,” said Kaliati.
