Truck With WFP Relief Maize Heading To Phalombe Overturns
A 30 tonne truck which was carrying relief food for the people of Phalombe district who were hit by floods and draught has overturned, Malawi Independent has established.
According to an eye witness, the truck which was fully loaded with maize failed to negotiate an angle and overturned in the process.
The fate happened just after Ndunde Admarc depot along Milepa road in Chiradzulu.
It is not yet known if there have been injuries or loss of life but the 30 tonne truck is badly damaged.
This is a sad development considering the fact that some people were set to benefit from the relief items which have not been damaged.
