ISAMA Introduces Fun Day For LL Schools
Independent School Association of Malawi (ISAMA) has introduced a fun day for schools under Mvunguti Education Zone in Lilongwe.
According to Sosthene Chikandira, ISAMA Chairman for the zone which covers Areas 25, 49, Kauma, Mtsiriza and Mtandire, the day has been established to promote togetherness among learners and school owners within the zone.
“This event is just the same as the Education Day which is observed in government schools. The day will have traditional dances, races, dramas and poems aimed at both entertaining and also sharing best practices among independent schools with the aim of improving quality of education among our schools.
“Our vision is to make this day international,” said Chikandira at the launch held at Nazarene Theological College in Area 25.
Primary Education Advisor (PEA) for Mvunguti Education Zone, Chrissy Bondo said the event is a welcome development for private schools in the country at large as it has potential of improving education standards through interactions during such activities.
“It is a totally welcomed idea. I hope a competitive element would be incorporated in future events at zone, district, regional and national level to ensure that the day makes significant contribution in the improvement of education standards across the board,” she said.
